An idea for a Quasi Electric Car
Well it's really an electric car driven by a battery. But my idea is to use a veggy oil 4 stroke to trickle charge. The driver has no control over it, it cuts in and out to meet bat. requirements. However using the fact that it supplies no automotive power and acts at a constant LOW speed I wondered if a very high temp ceramic com. chamber in head ( both for eff. and to burn all carb. particles ) coupled to a very long cylinder so that the adiabatic expansion reduces the exhaust gas to ambient would work. As you know a good deal of the energy of in.com.eng. is wasted in heating the block and in exhaust gas ( turbos only work at stupidly high speeds. ) My idea is to clamp the head down with a cam during combustion/expansion then rotate it out the way during exhaust/induction so that there is no resistance and no heating of incoming air. The head could rotate to a parallel cylinder for its ignition stage, since this would imply prim.vib there needs to be a similar 180deg pair ( Sq Ariel? ) Naturally the oil is injected no sp. plug. The piston (ceramic top) needs a long rod to the crank. Will it work? Ask Ricardo...
