Question about charging batteries?

Ok say I had an electric car with 20 lead acid batteries, I'd want to have it charged as fast as safely possible. My idea is having two chargers, each charging ten so that I could plug two extension cords into an outlet. I'd have a connecting wire & switch between the halves in case there's only one available socket. Would this enable my system to charge faster?
