Silent chain drives, AKA inverted tooth drive chains.
I've been researching inverted tooth drive chains. In the automotive applications I've seen, the chain always seems to runs in one direction. Cam drives, Oldsmobile Tornado TH375, GM 4T65E and so on. Are there any of these chains that can tolerate being reversed like they would be if replacing a ring & pinion gear set? I'm not sure if their application in four wheel drive transfer cases requires them to transmit torque in both directions or not.
