VW Electric Golf
Volkswagen has announced plans for a fully electric version of its popular car Golf. The 'e-Golf' can run for 93 miles before it needs charging. It also has a 85-kilowatt electric motor.

The e-Golf gets an 85-kilowatt electric motor joined to a single-speed transmission and differential, producing a sizable 199 lb.-ft. of torque available right at takeoff. Hardly a GTI, the zero-emissions Golf will nevertheless be able to sprint to 100 km/h in a respectable 11.8 seconds....

My dad has one of these cars and its an absolute beauty.. I hope the electric one live up to the present standards.. 93 miles of one charge is pretty good. That would be the daily commute of most people.

too bad my dad got it before the electric one came out.. Anyway, it could be my car somewhere in the future.

93 miles is good enough, but mileage is not the only thing to be kept in mind. Did they mention anything about its top speed, performance and the availability of spare parts?
